How to Pull Information From Other Boards Into Your SuperForm
SuperForm is a monday.com form builder that makes it possible to pull information from multiple boards into a single form. This feature is especially useful when you want to display highly specific data and details that are stored in multiple places.
In this article, we’ll walk through two methods of bringing board data into SuperForm: dynamic data via connect and mirror columns and static snapshots, and when to use each one.
A Practical Example
Imagine you’re running creative workshops. You offer several options—candle making, flower arranging, and calligraphy. At the moment, only candle making and flower arranging are open for registration.
With SuperForm, you can create monday forms that:
- Show only the workshops that are currently open
- Automatically display details (like price and time) once a user selects a workshop
This ensures participants see the right options without confusion.
Pulling Data from Connect and Mirror Columns
Unlike native monday WorkForms, SuperForm supports mirror columns, which let you pull live data from other boards. If those columns exist on a connected board, they’ll also appear automatically in your form.
How It Works
- Set up your boards – make sure that all of the relevant boards are properly linked
- Add static filters
A static filter shows items based on a fixed value in another board. For example, you can configure the form to show only workshops whose status is marked as active.
- Open the Fields tab in the right side of the SuperForm editor
- Add a static filter to show only workshops where the status = active

- Add dynamic filters
A dynamic filter displays relevant data based on another answer in the form. For example, a dynamic filter will display a price only once a specific workshop is selected.
- Create a two-way connection between the two relevant boards
- Configure a dynamic filter so that details (like options or times) are correctly dependent on the primary column
In the workshop example provided, you would configure the form such that in the ‘where’ field, you choose the connect column from the second board, and set the condition so that the data in the connect column equals the data in the prior question in SuperForm. This sets the dependency between the two questions on the form.

Using Snapshots
SuperForm also allows you to capture a snapshot of the data at the time of registration instead of constantly pulling live updates as allowed by a mirror column.
What’s the Difference?
- Dynamic (connect + mirror columns): Always pulls the latest data. If you update the details on one board, both the form and the board update automatically with the latest details. (For example, if you update a workshop’s price, the new amount will automatically appear for both new sign-ups and anyone who already registered — since the data is dynamically linked.)
- Static snapshot: Captures the information when the form is filled. If the board changes later, the completed data remains unchanged. (For example, if you update the workshop price, existing registrations will still show the original amount — only new sign-ups will see the change.)
How to Set It Up
- Prepare fields on the participants board
- Add text columns to record the required details (for example, workshop name and options)
- Add a number column for price and a text/date column for time.

2. Link to the details board
- Add a status column to the workshop details board

- Connect your SuperForm to the desired column from your second board

- Use a static filter to show only active workshops

- Add a dynamic filter to ensure that options, prices, and times match the selected workshop. For example, in the price field, we set the condition where the item name in the Workshop Catalog board equals the workshop chosen in the Workshop Category question in SuperForm.

The form looks the same to the user as in the application above, but the data stored on the participants board is a fixed record rather than dynamic.
When to Use Each Method
- Connect and Mirror Columns:
- Use when you need data to always stay up to date
- Example: if workshop dates frequently change and you want forms to reflect the latest schedule
- Use when you need data to always stay up to date
- Snapshot:
- Use when you need to run automations on the participants board (since monday.com doesn’t allow automations on mirror columns)
- Example: automatically send reminder emails a few days before a workshop date.
- Also use when you want to keep information fixed. If someone registers for a workshop at a specific time and price, that record won’t change even if you later update the workshop board.
- Use when you need to run automations on the participants board (since monday.com doesn’t allow automations on mirror columns)
- Pro tip: If you’re using connect and mirror columns but still want to send reminders, you can use SuperMail to pull the contact details from mirror or connect columns. Click here to learn how. This add-on works with your SuperForm setup to send email notifications based on the connected data.
Final Thoughts
SuperForm gives you two powerful ways to bring data from other monday.com boards into your forms:
- Dynamic columns for always-updated information.
- Static snapshots for automation and fixed records.
The right choice depends on your workflow:
- Need real-time accuracy? Go dynamic.
- Need automations or unchanged records? Go static.
